NOAH
BUTLER, III, a New
Orleans native, serves as the director of Al Yadav
Ministries, Inc. He began his deaf ministry work
in 1992 at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist
Church in New Orleans as a Praise and Worship interpreter
and choir music interpreter. He also served as director
of the sign language choir, "Unspeakable Joy".
In 1996, he moved his membership to Beacon Light
Missionary Baptist Church and began His Hands Deaf
Ministry of New Orleans. Noah served as Director
of that ministry. He began teaching American Sign
Language at the Daryl S. Brister School of Ministry
in 1997 and served faithful until his tenure ended
in 2001. He currently serves as Senior Interpreter
for Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Hands of Praise
Deaf Ministry, New Orleans, LA, under the leadership
of Pastor Fred Luter, Sr.
In the spring of 2001, Noah began a sign language
gospel group called "Noah3 & Company"
consisting of 8 interpreters and 3 liturgical dancers.
In October of 2002, Noah and Bishop Paul S. Morton,
Sr. produced a Live Video recording of the group
entitled "On One Accord."
On the professional side, Noah has taught American
Sign Language at Delgado Community and at Southern
University at New Orleans, served as educational
interpreter for several colleges and high schools,
does professional workshops and skills building
seminars for religious interpreters, and performs
across the country with the Company. He currently
serves as Interpreter Coordinator for the New Orleans
Jazz and Heritage Festival as well as the Austin
City Limits Music Festival. |
