“Tech for Terps: Using Technology to Improve Your Interpreting Experiences”
Beginner
Dr. Suzanne M. Ehrlich-Martin, Ed.D.

As technology continues to impact the interpreting profession, many interpreters may not know of the many opportunities to further their knowledge and education through technology. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about various technologies and the many ways to maximize their use of technology to improve their interpreting experiences. Areas that will be discussed include: web camera technology software and hardware to build communities, video-based learning (using DV technology), and internet technology for resource building that can provide an opportunity to enhance their interpreting knowledge base and learn of flexible educational opportunities for continued success. In addition to learning about the technologies and their application to the interpreting profession, participants will also gain knowledge about the importance of community building and how to implement the above technologies to begin community building as a professional.
