“Get Up and Voice: Experiential Learning Through Activities”

| As interpreters it is important to take risks and make mistakes. If we never make mistakes we are not growing. This workshop will lead members through a series of activities requiring both physical movement and mental ingenuity. Participants of all levels, beginner, intermediate, and advanced will be able to make those mistakes in this safe environment. Following the Gallaudet Personal Discovery Program philosophy of “Challenge by Choice,” participants will be asked to complete a series of tasks - each followed by a discussion. Each task will be specifically planned and oriented to improve the skills and abilities of the interpreters. Specifically, the discussions will focus on tips and techniques to improve voicing skills. Wear comfortable clothing folks, you will be moving a lot!!! |
