ROCHESTER,
NY-DHH Insurance, LLC today is announcing the roll-out
of a new type of insurance coverage designed especially
for the sign language interpreting industry. The
two different insurance products are geared towards
agencies that provide such interpreting services,
and also towards freelance interpreters.
These insurance packages are geared towards maximizing
coverage for interpreting agencies and for freelance
interpreters. Included in this coverage are professional
liability, general liability, non-owned automobile
coverage, business property, worker's compensation,
and much more.
Gary Meyer, Co-Owner of DHH Insurance, LLC and Founder
of the DeafQuote.com website, states, "The
sign language interpreting industry has really grown
over the past decade-first due to laws requiring
equal access to communications for sign language
users and now, more recently, due to the increased
proliferation of video interpreting." Meyer,
who is Deaf himself and a consumer of interpreting
services, continues, "As more and more interpreter
agencies and freelance interpreters find themselves
providing services in a wider variety of situations,
unfortunately the potential for liability has increased.
