Linda Ogletree
grew up in Dayton, Ohio and is now living and working
in the Metro Detroit area. She is a certified interpreter
and has been interpreting professionally since 1998.
She earned a BS in 1971 and MA in 1972 from the
University of Cincinnati. She graduated from an
Interpreter Training Program at Sinclair Community
College in Dayton, Ohio and received a BA degree
in Deaf studies from Madonna University in Livonia,
Michigan.
Her career changes included 23 yrs of service for
Delta Airlines. Her encounters with Deaf passengers
on flights sparked her desire to learn ASL and to
become an interpreter. Her Deaf ASL instructor gave
her the name sign --?flying L?
Linda is the President of the Detroit Chapter of
NAOBI and focuses on encouraging professional development
for members. Her professional affiliations include
membership in NAOBI Inc, NAOBI- Detroit, Registry
of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), Michigan RID
(MIRID) and National Association of the Deaf (NAD).
Linda is a professionally trained Labor Assistant
(Doula) and a member of Doulas of North America
(DONA)Linda is a member of the Deaf Ministry at
Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, Detroit, MI. She
presently works as a video relay interpreter and
a part-time freelance interpreter. |
