WHO ESTABLISHED VRS ?
WHY IS VRS IMPORTANT TO CONSUMERS OF COLOR ?
WHAT KIND OF COMPUTER DO I NEED ?
HOW/WHERE CAN I GET SUCH A COMPUTER?
WHERE CAN I ACCESS VRS ?

Deaf Consumer is typing a visual language as lines of text. Operator and Deaf Consumer are translating without the most important part of Deaf communication -- imagery

Instead of typing, the Deaf Consumer can use his/her native sign language.
Deaf Consumer’s web camera attached to her computer will capture her image & send it ‘live’ over the Internet using Deaf Consumer’s phone line. Her image will appear on the Video Relay Interpreter’s computer screen. [Yellow arrows]
The reverse is true. [Green arrows]
The Consumer and the Interpreter are filmed by their web cameras. Each one can see the other on her computer screen
.
